Job Duties & Responsibilities

As the Event Coordinator you will be responsible for the design and execution of a number of community initiatives & events, that serve the vulnerable and/or underserved population within this community. You will work directly with the Director of Administration and the Event Team Lead to assist with the planning of these events and ensure that they operate smoothly, efficiently and generate a maximum amount of exposure to the targeted community as defined in the planning process.

You will be responsible for communicating your plans to the Marketing Coordinator, A/V Technician and Graphic Designer to ensure that the appropriate marketing and advertising plan is developed and executed to increase awareness and participation. You will be responsible for providing updates to the Event Team Lead as to the status of the events based on the work plan and timelines. You will respond and manage inquiries about the events and book appropriate media requests.

You will use these events as an opportunity to engage with influential members and leaders of the community. You will recruit and provide direction to volunteers as required to execute the plans. You will coordinate the distribution of print materials, develop and monitor a budget for each event as part of the development of their project plan for each event. As the Event Coordinator you will be maintaining an online events calendar and respond to any online correspondence related to promoted events.

  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

  • Creative, self-starter with the ability to work independently.

  • Flexible and detail oriented. Able to handle multiple assignments, prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office & G-Suite.

  • Outgoing and socially skilled.

  • Must be available to work evenings & weekends as needed.
