"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love". - 1 John 4:7-8
When Jesus was on earth, He shared a radical way of living and taught how to love unconditionally which was completely counter-cultural. He taught that no matter your status, no matter what may be wrong with you, or what you have done, you still deserve to be loved and have the chance for redemption. This was frustrating for those who benefited from political, power-based hierarchies, and for a world that liked to place people in boxes. However, the grace and salvation that Jesus gives is for all who believe and conform to His teaching.
Here, John reminds us that God is love. It's not only something that He requires from us, but it is Who God is. If we are created in the image of God, l
ove is who we are as well. Love transforms, it mends, and it heals. So, let's not just talk about love, let us become love; love in the flesh and love in action.
This is the more excellent way.
