The Impact Movement - Impactful Relationships 2
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the day approaching". -Hebrews 10:24-25
Jesus said the most important thing we should do is love God and love others as we love ourselves. Life is not about our accomplishments or acquisitions, or about our popularity or prestige. Yes, these things are a meaningful part of our journey, but what is most important is our relationships and how well we love one another.
It is difficult to have relationships with others if we don't know who we are. Knowing who God is, and who we are in Him, allows us to have healthy relationships with others. We all have different connections and relationships: some healthy, some broken, some non-existent. It's important to have healthy connections because it plays such a significant role in determining who we are ("Don't be deceived, bad company corrupts good character." - 1 Corinthians 15:33)
Remember three key principles to building healthy relationships are: 1) Keep it real and authentic; having a relationship with yourself is important. A better you makes for a better relationship with others. 2) That not all relationships are created equal; the quality of our present day relationships are an indicator of your future. 3) The most valuable, are not always the most visible; remember to never take for granted those that are always present helping us to become better.
