Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” -Mark 12: 30-31
Love is an attribute of God. Love is a core aspect of God’s character, His Person. God's love for us in unconditional. What that means is that He loves us no matter what, and He doesn't expect anything in return. It doesn't matter what we've done, what we've been through, or who we are; He won't love us any less. His love is perfect, unending, and doesn't expect anything. In the same way, He commands and desires for us to love Him with our entire being!
There’s a reason why Jesus said the second greatest commandment is like the first: if we love God with all our heart, we will love our neighbour as ourselves. It functions like faith and works; if we truly have the first, the second follows naturally. If God is not the love of our life, there is no way that we will truly love our neighbour as ourselves. For we will love ourselves supremely.
Be encouraged to love a little more this week; whether it be your spouse, your friend, your children, a neighbour, a colleague etc. #TrendingLove
