"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him."- James 1:5
Could it be that you are not getting what you want because you are not asking God for what you really need?
As we continue our series "True North," we learn that cultivating a spirit of wisdom is truly important. It is knowledge applied where we gain true and lasting happiness and long life. Knowledge can exist without wisdom, but not the other way around. One can be knowledgeable without being wise.
Wisdom will multiply our days and give us a hope-filled future! How does one get wisdom? The bible says that we should ask, but we should also acknowledge that the fear the of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10). When we fear God (reverence Him), we humble ourselves and place God in the centre of our lives, He will then lead us by his spirit as true wisdom comes from God.
Wisdom also helps us to correct our course. It gives us check points so we can stay on track. We can move forward yet in the wrong direction. Wisdom brings us into alignment. Wisdom corrects our character and helps us make better choices.
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. -Proverbs 4:7
