"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." 1 Corinthians 13:13
A Christian's life is marked by love. True love is enacted through grace and mercy such as what Christ offers us not only on a daily basis but also on a second by second basis. We are image bearers of Christ and that is why we are called to love.
Love is not a feeling, rather a command from God in which we choose to obey. To know how to love, we must know what love is; 1 John 4:8 tells us God is love. We find no conditions placed on God's love for us.
Loving God starts with a choice and leads to action. It is not bitter or envious, and leaves no room for an emotional response. There needs to be an authentic love for God, which orients our affections, desires and thoughts. It permeates our speaking, behaviours, and influences every aspect of lives (work, family, ministry etc.) When we truly understand love, we are able to love God, and love others.
Keep Walking in Love!
