Our Pastors have encouraged us again with a great message as we 'Go'! We are called to the Great Co-Mission. Wherever you go, God is always with you. You don't go alone, we are in commission with Christ!
As you GO, go listening, go speaking the truth in love, and go with integrity and compassion. James 1:19 says "my dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry." As we connect with people, listening is vital. A friend once told me, it's not what a person says but what they don't say. Be discerning, and listen to beyond what's being said. Listening means you take the time to hear and the time to think.
Did you know your words are powerful? In proverbs the word declares that you will decree a thing and it shall be established (Proverbs 22:28). Think about it; God spoke our world into existence! The words we speak make a difference in our daily interaction with people. When you speak, it is a deep reflection of what's inside of you-"Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks."-Luke 6:45. Our words and our hearts are connected. People are waiting for you to speak life and to speak truth!
Finally, as you GO, go treating people with respect, dignity, and kindness. Encourage those you meet along the way! People are not defined by what they've done but who Christ has called them to be. Look beyond their past and see their future. I'm sure it's bright!
