"Compassion is the greatest form of love that humans have to offer"-Rachel Joy Scott
Yesterday we were honoured to have Minister Adrian give us sound biblical teaching through the book of Jonah. He shared lessons about the power of compassion, and three major takeaways that we can use as we walk out our faith to GO out to share the good news.
God's compassion is extended to unworthy sinners, God's compassion leads sinners to repentance, and compassion sees people as valuable. We often think that the gospel is for "good people," however, we were all in need of the gospel. Take a second to think about where Christ found you, and He didn't leave you there. The Apostle Paul wrote "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes."-Romans 1:16.
God has called us out of the darkness to help to reach those that are still there; the unlovable, so that they too can believe. It's the unlovable that need to be rescued. They are not unqualified.
Use the gospel, and speak in love! For it is the good news, the powerful news and life changing news! In speaking the truth (gospel), God can bring even the wicked people to repentance. The truth without love is not the gospel.
We are to exemplify the Father's attributes, including compassion. We are intrinsically valuable because we are made in the image of God.
May we be people who walk in compassion and walk towards those who need it.
